<hi style=afpcap>A Taylorcraft L-2 Grasshopper which was a redesignation of the O-57 by the Army in 1942 to denote liaison. A total of 336 O-57s were reclassified as L-2s, with a further 140 L-2As built as such before production switched to the L-2B. The Army impressed a number of pre-war civilian Taylorcraft for training glider pilots, with these being allocated individual designations within the range L-2C to L-2L.</hi>
